Saint
Columba Monthly Newsletter
March 2010
Principal's
Message:
Principal’s notes. As always we are
thankful for our sports at St. Columba. They
have been traditionally successful at SCS
and this tradition continued into this year.
Most of our competitors have represented SCS
with true Sportsmanship and true Christian
attitudes. The Volleyball teams entered the
regional level competition this weekend
after completing a successful year. We wish
them well. The eighth grade Boys Basketball
team competed in Peoria as has been our rich
tradition. Our academic team though young
has done tremendously well.
As you may be aware the Boosters Club
Fish Fry on Ash Wednesday had a profit of
$5,100.00 with all raffle tickets sold. We
were fortunate to have received $500 from
Kohl’s along with four volunteers helping
during the dinner. Several of their "A
team" members waited and bussed tables
while others washed dishes and helped in the
kitchen. Be sure to thank them as you shop
at Kohl’s for spending the entire event
with
us.
We are starting our Magazine sales on
March 5th. The profits for this fundraiser
goes directly into the operating expense of
SCS and is an important part of our budget.
Be looking for information from your student
on that day.

From the planning committee for the combined
Mass and school activities:
Thank you to all teachers, staff, and parents
who helped make the Catholic School’s Week Mass
and Student Activities at St. Columba School a big
success. The Mass was beautiful and the kids
seemed to have a great time afterwards. Go
Marquette Academy!!

Please remember that children need to be
free of a fever for 24 hours (without the use
of a fever reducer) before they should be sent
back to school. This is an excellent way we can
all try and stay healthy.

Mrs. Chrzanowski received
a "thank you" from Donna Castro with the
Adult Day Care Center and it said:
"I want to thank you for brining the
students to play for us at the Christmas party on
December 14. Your dedication to the school and the
students is a wonderful example of your faith in
action. It is clear from your expression that you
truly love what you do."
