Tess Nelson is a third generation San Diegan and graduate of UCSD, with a major in biology and minor in English Literature.

She began piano lessons at the age of eight and started playing guitar and singing at her local Parish at the age of twelve.

Today she is still involved with several music ministries throughout the Diocese of San Diego as well as singing for special services including the annual Chrism Mass and Ordinations.

Tess has been at St. Columba since 2008 directing the Contemporary Choir as well accompanist and co-director of the School Choir.

She sings regularly with Pacific Coast Chorale and The Masterworks Chorale. Stage production credits include Hunchback Chorus(Hunch- back of Notre Dame-world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse -2014), Mozart Requiem with City Ballet Orchestra and Co.(Spreckles 2015)and the Legend Zelda-Symphony of the Goddess(Civic 2017)
